Children and Family Centres
UPDATE: SUMMER 2016 ACTIVITIES 2016 NOW ADDED
From the Friday 1st July 2016 Waltham Forest Children’s Centres will now be known as Children and Family Centres.
Children and Family Centres will offer services, activities and support for families with children aged under five. They are open to all and you do not need an appointment so you can just come along.
Most activities at Children and Family Centres are offered free but a few will involve a small cost. These activities will offer the opportunity to connect with other parents and make new friends.
If you would like to get involved please contact The Lloyd Park Centre www.thelloydparkcentre.co.uk.
Every term the Children and Young People's Directory is updated with a full listing of activities taking place at each centre. You can view these by clicking on the corresponding links below.
To deliver the new Children and Family Centre services, the Council is working in partnership with The Lloyd Park Centre - a local, parent-led charity judged outstanding by Ofsted.
The Lloyd Park Centre will deliver and coordinate a range of early childhood services. They will offer stay and play sessions, speech and language development, parenting support, universal health, and early education services for all families in the borough, with a focus on children aged 0-5 years. Their mission is to build brighter futures for children in Waltham Forest and they want to work with local families to help plan these services across the borough.
Children and Family Centres offer health services like breastfeeding support, baby clinics, nutrition and baby massage sessions. There are drop ins and 'stay and plays' for parents and carers to bring their babies and children under age five to play and learn.
Jobs, careers and training information for parents and carers is also available for those who are thinking about looking for work. You can also find out about a range of volunteering opportunities and advice services.
Children and Family Centre activities take place at various venues across the borough and you can view our full activity listing for more details. However there are also four main hubs sites where all services are managed from in each of the main areas.
